ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jon Meshanko is an Albany, Georgia-born artist whose work is rooted in a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. He developed an early fascination with art through his father’s encouragement—learning fundamental art principles and ways drawings can be shaped into something more realistic. Jon’s father also helped shape Jon’s love for the outdoors by taking him deep-sea fishing and quail hunting. Even when he wasn’t actively hunting or fishing as a child, the beauty of Southwest Georgia and the connection with friends and family left an indelible mark on his imagination.

After high school, Jon attended the University of Georgia while pursuing a degree outside of art. During his senior year, he returned to drawing and painting as a way to manage stress and reconnect with his creative instinct. As his passion re-emerged, representational art featuring the outdoors and wildlife became the subject matter most consistently found on his easel.

Jon married his wife, Isabel, in 2022, and together they moved from Augusta, Georgia to Stuart, Florida. A short stint in South Florida, along with experience working as a production manager for an area artist, broadened his understanding of the art business and deepened his interest in gamefish art. For the past three years, they’ve made Greenville, South Carolina home. Greenville has served as a launching pad for Jon to continue to refine his skills and pursue a professional path in art. In December 2025, they welcomed their first baby girl, Davey.
